RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season Season 08 Episode 05 Description
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 8 continues with more fun and impersonations as the queens have to play the Snatch Game of Love, where they have to impersonate celebrities and try to win the hearts of two bachelors: Bobby Moynihan and Ross Mathews. The guest judges are Michelle Visage and Emmy Award winner Laverne Cox.
For their mini-challenge, the queens have to play a game of “Drag Race Trivia”, where they have to answer questions about the show’s history and culture. The winner of the mini-challenge is Jessica Wild, who earns a $2,500 gift card from Anastasia Beverly Hills. For their main challenge, the queens have to play the Snatch Game of Love, where they are divided into two groups:
Group 1: Alexis Michelle as Liza Minnelli, Darienne Lake as Divine, Heidi N Closet as Tiffany Haddish, Jimbo as Joan Rivers, and Kahanna Montrese as Cardi B.
Group 2: Jessica Wild as Sofia Vergara, Kandy Muse as Nicki Minaj, and Drew Sidora as Drew Sidora.
The celebrity impersonations are as follows:
Alexis Michelle as Liza Minnelli: Alexis nails Liza’s mannerisms and voice, but struggles to make jokes and be funny.
Darienne Lake as Divine: Darienne captures Divine’s outrageousness and filthiness, but goes too far with some of her answers and offends RuPaul and Bobby Moynihan.
Heidi N Closet as Tiffany Haddish: Heidi delivers Tiffany’s energy and humor, but gets overshadowed by Jimbo and Kahanna.
Jimbo as Joan Rivers: Jimbo slays Joan’s wit and sass, and makes everyone laugh with her roasts and insults.
Kahanna Montrese as Cardi B: Kahanna surprises everyone with her spot-on Cardi impression, and makes them laugh with her catchphrases and sound effects.
Jessica Wild as Sofia Vergara: Jessica does a decent Sofia impression, but relies too much on her accent and boobs for jokes.
Kandy Muse as Nicki Minaj: Kandy does a mediocre Nicki impression, and fails to stand out or be funny.
Drew Sidora as Drew Sidora: Drew plays herself, which is a risky move that does not pay off. She is boring and forgettable.
The judges critique the celebrity impersonations and announce that Jimbo, Kahanna Montrese, and Jessica Wild are the top three queens of the week. They also announce that Drew Sidora, Kandy Muse, and Darienne Lake are the bottom three queens of the week.
Jimbo wins the main challenge and earns the power to eliminate one of the bottom three queens. He also has to lip sync for his legacy against a lip sync assassin, who turns out to be Jinkx Monsoon from season 5 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. They lip sync to “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler.
Jimbo wins the lip sync and reveals that he chose to eliminate Drew Sidora. Drew sashays away and joins the Fame Games competition.
The episode ends with a preview of the next episode, where the queens have to roast each other in front of a live audience in “The All Stars Roast”.
