Bake Off: The Professionals season 6 is the sixth season of Bake Off: The Professionals, a British television baking competition that features teams of professional pastry chefs competing in various challenges. The season premiered on July 4, 2023, on Channel 4.
The season is hosted by comedian Tom Allen and former contestant on The Great British Bake Off, Liam Charles. The judges are Benoit Blin, the chef patissier at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, and Cherish Finden, the executive pastry chef at The Langham, London.
The season consists of 10 episodes, with 12 teams of two pastry chefs each. The teams are divided into four heats, with three teams in each heat. In each heat, the teams face two challenges: the miniatures challenge, where they have to create 24 identical miniature desserts in three hours; and the showpiece challenge, where they have to create a large-scale dessert display in five hours. The judges award marks out of 100 for each challenge, and the team with the highest total score in each heat advances to the semifinal. The remaining teams compete in a quarterfinal round for the last two spots in the semifinal.
In the semifinal, the four teams have to create 36 petits fours and a jelly dessert showpiece inspired by a teddy bear’s picnic. The judges eliminate one team based on their performance.
In the final, the three teams have to create a chocolate party hat and 48 miniature desserts that showcase their skills and personalities. The judges then decide which team is the winner of Bake Off: The Professionals season 6.
The season was won by Andrew Minto and Michael Coggan from Gin and Bake in Cardiff. They beat Laurian Veaudor and Thibault Courtoisier from Cocorico Patisserie in Cardiff and Sarah Frankland and Leyre Pedrazuela from Pennyhill Park Hotel in Surrey.
