The Masked Singer AU
The Masked Singer AU is a reality TV show where celebrities perform in elaborate costumes and masks, while a panel of judges and the audience try to guess their identities. The show is hosted by Osher Günsberg and features celebrities from various fields, such as music, film, sports, and more. The show is based on the international music game show franchise Masked Singer, which originated from the South Korean television program King of Mask Singer.
The current season of The Masked Singer AU is the fifth season, which premiered on September 11, 2023, and will run for 12 weeks on Channel 10. The season features 12 masked singers, divided into four groups of three: Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D. Each group performs in four episodes, where one singer is eliminated each episode based on the votes from the judges and the audience. The remaining three singers from each group advance to the Super Six, where they compete for a spot in the Finale. The Finale features the top three singers, who reveal their identities and compete for the Golden Mask trophy.
The season also features some twists and nods to previous seasons of The Masked Singer AU and other versions of The Masked Singer , such as the return of the Golden Power of Veto, the Double Eviction, and the Battle Back competition. The season also introduces some new twists, such as the Big Brother Vault, where singers can find hidden advantages or punishments, and the Big Brother Roulette, where a random singer can change one of the nominations before the eviction vote .
