The Bachelorette is back with its 20th season, featuring Charity Lawson, a 27-year-old child and family therapist from Columbus, Georgia. Lawson was previously a contestant on the 27th season of The Bachelor, where she finished in fourth place after being eliminated by Zach Shallcross. Now, she is ready to find her true love among 25 men who are competing for her heart.

Lawson was announced as the new Bachelorette by Jesse Palmer, the host of the show, during the Women Tell All special of The Bachelor. Palmer, who was also the Bachelor on the fifth season of the show, said that Lawson was “one of the most genuine, kind-hearted, and sincere women” he had ever met.

Lawson said that she was looking for someone who is “honest, loyal, respectful, and has a good sense of humor.” She also said that she was not going to settle for anything less than “head over heels” in love.

The Bachelorette Season 20 premiered on June 26, 2023, on ABC. The first episode introduced the viewers to the 25 men who arrived in limousines to meet Lawson at the Bachelor mansion in Agoura Hills, California. Some of them made memorable first impressions, such as Chris Spell, who did a backflip to show off his world record jumping skills; Caleb Balgaard, who revealed his profession as a pro wrestler; and Warwick Reider, who brought a guitar and sang a song for Lawson.

However, the biggest surprise of the night was when Palmer brought out one more man for Lawson to meet. It turned out to be her brother Nehemiah Lawson, who came to support his sister and spy on her suitors. Nehemiah disguised himself as a bartender and listened in on the conversations between Lawson and the men. He later revealed himself at the cocktail party and shared his opinions with his sister. He said that he was worried about Brayden Bowers, a travel nurse who seemed too cocky for his liking.

Lawson decided to give Brayden the first impression rose after he explained that he was just nervous and excited to meet her. She also handed out roses to Aaron Bryant, John Buresh, Xavier Bonner, Joey Graziadei, Caleb Arthur, Warwick Reider, Aaron Schwartzman, Adrian Hassan, James Pierce, Sean McLaughlin, Michael Barbour, Tanner Courtad, Dotun Olubeko, Kaleb Kim, John Henry Spurlock, Josh Young, and Spencer Storbeck.

She eliminated Chris Spell, Joe Menzia, Caleb Balgaard, Khalid Hassan, Nicholas Barber, Peter Cappio, and Taylor Pegg.
