Episode Summary
Coffee Elimination Challenge – The six contestants up for elimination faced two rounds: the first involved guessing the flavour of Zumbo’s macarons, with the first three to guess incorrectly moving onto round two, where they had to pair a macaron flavour from the first round with coffee in a dessert. Darrsh, Gillian and Josh P. moved on to round two were they have 75 minutes. Darrsh’s coffee and peanut paris brest was decleared the best dessert and Jean-Christophe mentioned it was one of the best he’s ever tasted outside of France. Josh P’s coffee custard with coconut crumble & chocolate cake recieved praise for the flavour of the coffee and for it’s pairing but the mold didn’t set which effected the presentation. Despite admitting that she hated coffee, the coffee flavour in Gillian’s coffee creme caramel was strong but overall the dish was over-baked, leading to her elimination.
