RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season Season 08 Episode 02 Description
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 8 continues with more fun and challenges as the queens have to parody sketch comedy shows in “RDR Live”. The guest judges are SNL alum Bobby Moynihan and special guest judge Robin Thede.
For their mini-challenge, the queens have to play a game of “Snatch Game of Love”, where they have to impersonate celebrities and try to win the hearts of two bachelors: Bobby Moynihan and Ross Mathews. The winner of the mini-challenge is Jimbo, who earns a $2,500 gift card from Anastasia Beverly Hills. For their main challenge, the queens have to write and perform in their own sketches inspired by iconic comedy shows like SNL, In Living Color, and MADtv. They are divided into three teams:
Team Alexis: Alexis Michelle, Darienne Lake, and Naysha Lopez
Team Jessica: Jessica Wild, Kahanna Montrese, and LaLa Ri
Team Jimbo: Jimbo, Heidi N Closet, Jaymes Mansfield, Kandy Muse, and Drew Sidora
The sketches are as follows:
Team Alexis parodies SNL with sketches like “The Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion”, “RuPaul’s Drag Race Auditions”, and “Weekend Update”.
Team Jessica parodies In Living Color with sketches like “Men on Film”, “Homey D. Clown”, and “Fire Marshall Bill”.
Team Jimbo parodies MADtv with sketches like “Stuart”, “Miss Swan”, and “Lorraine”.
The judges critique the sketches and announce that Team Jimbo is the winning team of the week. They also announce that Team Alexis is the bottom team of the week.
Jimbo wins the main challenge and earns the power to eliminate one of the bottom three queens. He also has to lip sync for his legacy against a lip sync assassin, who turns out to be Alyssa Edwards from seasons 5 and 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and seasons 2 and 5 of All Stars. They lip sync to “Don’t Start Now” by Dua Lipa.
Jimbo wins the lip sync and reveals that he chose to eliminate Naysha Lopez. Naysha sashays away and joins the Fame Games competition.
The episode ends with a preview of the next episode, where the queens have to transform everyday supermarket items into supermodel-worthy fashions in “The Supermarket Ball”.
