RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season Season 08 Episode 04 Description
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 8 continues with more fun and creativity as the queens have to create and star in their own sickening scripted TV series trailers in “The Golden Age of Television”. The guest judges are Michelle Visage and Emmy Award winner Laverne Cox.
For their mini-challenge, the queens have to play a game of “Celebrity Impersonation”, where they have to impersonate famous TV stars and try to make RuPaul laugh. The winner of the mini-challenge is Kandy Muse, who earns a $2,500 gift card from Anastasia Beverly Hills. For their main challenge, the queens have to write and perform in their own trailers for original TV series inspired by iconic shows like Dynasty, Sex and the City, and The Golden Girls. They are divided into three teams:
Team Alexis: Alexis Michelle, Darienne Lake, and Jaymes Mansfield
Team Jessica: Jessica Wild, Heidi N Closet, and Kahanna Montrese
Team Kandy: Kandy Muse, Jimbo, and Drew Sidora
The trailers are as follows:
Team Alexis parodies Dynasty with “Diva-sty”, a drama about three drag queens who fight for power and glamour in the world of fashion.
Team Jessica parodies Sex and the City with “Sex and the Kitty”, a comedy about four drag queens who explore love and sex in New York City.
Team Kandy parodies The Golden Girls with “The Golden Gays”, a comedy about four drag queens who live together in Miami.
The judges critique the trailers and announce that Team Kandy is the winning team of the week. They also announce that Team Alexis is the bottom team of the week.
Kandy Muse wins the main challenge and earns the power to eliminate one of the bottom three queens. She also has to lip sync for her legacy against a lip sync assassin, who turns out to be Trinity K. Bonet from seasons 6 and 9 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and season 6 of All Stars. They lip sync to “I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross.
Kandy Muse wins the lip sync and reveals that she chose to eliminate Jaymes Mansfield. Jaymes sashays away and joins the Fame Games competition.
The episode ends with a preview of the next episode, where the queens have to storm the runway and the grocery aisle in “The Supermarket Ball”.
